Montalba is located ten miles north of Palestine on Highway 19 and intersects with FM 321 west seven miles to Tennessee Colony.  Montalba has a general store, pictured above, along with two churches, a post office and Jay Galloway's BBQ restaurant, (903)373-2956 (Picture right).  Jay's barbequed ribs alone are worth the trip or stop at Montalba.  Traveling from Athens south on Highway 19 to Palestine, a stop at Jay's will be a great treat.

Next to the Post Office in Montalba a resident's garden spot attest to springtime in Texas and a great place to be!
