  Anderson County, Texas has three incorporated cities, Palestine,  the largest city with a population of approximately 18,000, had sales in 2009 of $1,195,296,678.00 according to the Texas Comptroller's Office.   Elkhart a population of approximately 1,277 had sales totaling $17,281,288.00 for 2009.

    Frankston with a population of approximately 1,250  sales for 2009 totaled $33,692,721.00.  All sales for Anderson County were down from 2008, more downward movement for in 2011 for the first the quarters of 2011.

   Caguya is a community with a population of approximately 200. Tennessee Colony has an estimated population of 300.

   Tucker has an estimated population of 90.

   Montalba has a population estimated at 110.  Although Montalba is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the zip code of 75853.

   A large portion of Anderson County, Texas growth is due to portion  Lake Palestine being included in the county.

One of the largest employers in Anderson County, Texas is the State of Texas.  The Texas Department of Corrections in 1963 open the 22,640-acre Coffield Unit, near Tennessee Colony and began operations in 1965 in Anderson County, Texas. The Coffield Unit has 984 employees with a capacity of 3818 offenders.  The Beto Unit which was added in 1980 has 712 employees and has a capacity of 3,150 offenders with a trusty camp of 321.  The Michael Unit which opened in 1987 has 834 employees and has a capacity of 2900 offenders and a trusty camp  of 321.  The Gurney Unit has 471 employees and a capacity of 2,128 offenders.  The Powledge Unit opened in July 1982 and has 308 employees with a capacity of 816 offenders with trusty camp of 321.  The combined employment of these units total 3,309 employees.
